The Forester 2.0i-P has a retail price of 1.678M so you get an 80k discount from the SRP. The cost of maintenance for the first year is around 10k and you get that for free. The 2.0i-P has more features than the base model 2.0i-L but the price difference between the models is 200k. If you don't mind the extra features (18" rims, sunroof, rearview camera, leather seats, etc.), I guess the base model 2.0i-L will be a better buy.

Maybe you can spare another 200k and opt for the Forester XT instead. It's totally worth it, if you ask me. Hehehe

*Spot. I had the same experience. I think the casa fixed it by installing some shims. Unit is still under warranty.

    Thanks for reply

I chose 2.0P because my kids and wife love sunroof and I did not choose Forester XT because my budget is limited and I dont think Manila traffic allow me to use all power of turbo engine . Sometimes, married man cannot do what he wants hehehehe

By the way, I just confuse about 2016 and 2017 version, I checked on youtube for each version and I did not see any difference. There are some major changes between 2015 and 2016, something like LED headlight but not for 2016 vs 2017

I guess you have made up your mind already. There is no difference between the model released on the 2nd quarter of 2016 to the models released this year. Their main differences to 2015 and early 2016 models are the adaptive headlights, DRLs, rims, and the dashboard display for the XT model. The platform is the same since 2013 and also the engines and transmission.

If your daily route includes open highways and expressways, the Forester XT is just a joy to drive. The Forester platform is built for the family though the engine of the XT is built for the kid in a dad's heart. Hehehe

How is the horn of the Subaru Forester SJ? Is it loud enough for normal use? Has anyone replaced theirs with a louder aftermarket horn?

For those without reverse sensor or reverse camera, where did you have reverse sensors / camera installed? Has anyone here also changed their headunit?

I was never the guy to alter horns but I think it is like most Japanese cars unlike the one on the VW Jetta which sounds like on a lower frequency. The folks at SFX FB group may be able to chime in.

Subaru BGC told me they can install the reverse sensors for 6500. After a few months of using the reverse camera, I found that it is enough even without the sensors. You just have to gauge the distances on the video. The XT and Premium come standard with a reverse camera while the L model has the reverse sensors.

    Beep! beep!

Bakit ba naman yung Forester kahit XT walang sensor. Nakaatras tuloy ako ng poste. Saka yung backup lamp, isang side lang. Lagi tuloy pinapansin, sira daw!

It would have been a welcome thing if the rear sensor came standard on the Premium and XT. What's 6500 compared to the price of the Premium and XT?

Thank goodness di pa ako nakaatras ng kotse or poste using the rearview camera ng XT ko. I managed to live with no rearview camera or rear sensor with the much bigger Ford Expedition in the US. However, they do have more generous parking spaces out there in the midwest US.

I used to drive the bigger Explorer may sensor bago tumingin sa camera. They should have removed one of those buttons in the steering wheel in exchanged for the sensor. Isa pang nakakalito ay yung lever pambukas ng hood. Lagi kung nahihila yung takip ng fuse box! Maluwag na tuloy.
