Well, this is a cobb tune which we dont have here sir, but there is ecutek, a simple downpipe and cat upgrade can do wonders and i guess youre right sir, stock is more than enough.

Where do you get goodies like that locally? I am more interested first on improving the output of the small turbo of my Fiesta Ecoboost. For another 20% power and torque output, that small car might do 8 seconds or better on a 0-100kmh sprint.

I noticed the lag coming from a full stop and the rubber band effect is quite noticeable if I put it on N while waiting for the traffic light to change. Is threre a way to correct this or do I have to live with the non-turbo version?

Ah kuya, are you sure thats the rubber band effect? This is what i notice, driving 40-100+ then taking my foot of the accelerator pedal immediately youll feel it decelerate instantly, like an engine brake, youll get a feeling of something is tugging behind you, just like a rubber band, i think it one of the characteristics of the cvt, you could test it on slex, its easily replicable.

Tugging motion sir, i can replicate it from 40-120, release that gas then viola, feeling engine break, on a normal AT, it will just coast along.

Probably I was using the wrong term to describe the feeling of delayed acceleration of about 2 to 3 secs after stepping on the accelerator coming from a full stop. Bitin sa arangkada.

Tama naman yung description mo dreamur ng rubber band effect. That's basically the CVT hunting for a proper ratio to match your pedal input to give you the acceleration you're looking for.

148 hp, CVT, and 1,620 kg aren't the best ingredients for blistering standstill acceleration.

But since the Forester has a great CVT, in-gear acceleration (say, 40-80 kph) is actually good compared to conventional automatics since you're always in the right powerband.

Traditional AT or CVT in normal setups have slower response times compared to DCT or MT. It is how trannies are tuned to keep it within limits of the engine and to reduce wear & tear.

My Fiesta Ecoboost behaves differently compared to my Forester XT. The Fiesta is quicker to shift with its DCT and the turbo spools earlier (below 2k rpm) thus giving the feeling of quick acceleration. The Forester XT behaves more like a big 4-cylinder NA-powered midsize car at below 2k rpm but once the turbo spools past 2k rpm, you feel the torque kick in and the vehicle just launches forward. On a straight line, the Fiesta may go off quickly but the Forester will outpace it to triple digit speeds faster. That is if I keep the Forester XT in Intelligent mode.
