I got my 2016 iP (pre-facelift) last March 2016 and I am impressed with the smooth suspension and how the car handles the curves with minimal body roll. The ride is smoother that my livina totl.

Why did you not buy the Rav4 2.5 4x2 Active +? What do you like in the Subara Forester that is not in the Rav4? You can have
cheap Toyota serviced at banawe and the Forester only at the casa at 3 times the price.

I scouted a bit before deciding on the forester and I narrowed down my choices to the forester, CX5, CRV and Rav4. At the same price range (1.495M), forester has more options - AWD, sun roof, leather seats, 18inch wheels, automatic hatch, keyless entry, 6 airbags and all around safety features.

The rav 4 is a guzzler without the get up and go, the 2.0 is efficient coz of the tranny. The cost of owing will balance itself out in the long run, plus there are shops that cater to subaru already, you just have to do some homework.

I also wanted the Forester because it has the best safety crash test data. But 5 years later, when the
part starts to break down.. won't one be bothered with say the aircon radiator that will take 20,000
pesos to replace while for other brands of cars only less than 5000 pesos?

Same complaint with honda in the early 90s, look the situation right now, the more cars subaru sells, the better the availability of parts.

It really boils down how you value practicality vs your wants in a car. Trying to convince yourself you like a car won't help in the long run. Get a fortuner or montero if you're more concerned about parts availability.

The other factor I considered is that the service center is very close to the office and home. I can just leave it for PMS in the morning and pick it up in the evening. Availability of parts is relatively. It depends on which part you need and the dealers have the stocks for the consumables. Cost is another thing but if it offsets the other convenience, then I wouldnt mind.

I went to Subaro and asked the service department how much is the radiator for the Forester. 39k daw whereas less than 10k lang for Honda crv. Anyway. Puwede bang ibili yung radiator sa ibang bansa like USA, how much mga ito in other places? maybe 20k lang?

After discussing with the sales consultant.. she said there was no reported carjacking of the Forester in her branch because the carjackers would rather take a fortuner or innova.. since I'm after safety including the 6 SRS bags and headone collision safety rating of the frames.. then I ordered a Forester 2016.
