    Hi fellow Subaru owners,

    May I know if any of you guys ever had after market (meaning: those that did not come stock with the car) electricals installed, and by whom? Specify also what type - head unit and/or speakers, alarm, backing sensor, reverse camera etc.

    If so, please indicate -

    1. Make/model of car;
    2. Electricals installed;
    3. By whom (MI or 3rd party);

    I'll start -

    1. Forester XS 2012
    2. HU + speakers + amp + reverse camera
    3. 3rd party

    thanks to all who posted so far - it will help us current owners to determine if it's feasible to have after market parts installed, especially since unlike the Toyotas/Hondas etc, not many installers are familiar with Subarus.

    Anyway, for Android users, just found a story of someone who installed a Nexus 7 on a Subaru: http://www.androidauthority.com/nexu...subaru-150946/

    heads up for those (like me) who changed HUs and are using iPhones. Seems there's some glitches in bluetooth playback:

    from what i could gather, hard to do BT firmware update for Alpine units. I don't know about Pioneers.

    I finally managed to do the bluetooth firmware update for my Alpine HU.

    And may I just say, napakahirap niya because Alpine insists on using bluetooth to transfer the new firmware from a laptop running Windows 7 to the HU. In short, you have to:

    1. download the firmware to a laptop which is bluetooth capable;
    2. have the Alpine HU pair with the laptop; and finally,
    3. transfer the firmware update from the laptop to the HU via bluetooth
