No price update yet. Not sure if additional tax is retroactive once you made a purchase based on current price.

Does anyone here observe that the 2018 Subaru XV once the engine is started from cold, it goes to around 2,000 rpm for around 1 minute before going to a 1,000 rpm idle? The high 2,000rpm engine sound is not constant but goes in an up and down rhythm.

Yep that's normal. It warms up the cat converter to minimize pollution during cold starts. The SkyActiv engine on our other car also revs that high.

Yep even the carb engines with autochokes rev high on cold starts. These new-fangled engines rev very high though and the direct injection engines are unusually loud and clattery until they settle down. Takes some getting used to.

I already got my XV after having the bumper repaired in Subaru BGC. Apparently, the actual repair is done in Mandaluyong. I saw a minor paint imperfection and had to bring it back to BGC 2 days ago. They brought it back the 2nd time around to Mandaluyong and the car is back today ing BGC. The service agent said the imperfection is still there so they have to bring it back to Mandaluyong.

This whole process of sending the car back and forth to Mandaluyong is just insane. They're using up my fuel and it's just being wasted. Don't I have the right to ask for fuel reimbursement from them?

That's the main reason why I won't bring any car to the casa for paint and bodywork. Ask your insurance provider for a list of accredited shops that specialize in body repair and choose. At least you'll know where the work is being performed and can drop in for surprise visits every now and then.

But the casa provided the replacement parts (rear bumper and whole left rear door) for the whole repair. So I had no choice but to let them do the paint job too.
