So what do people do to avoid this?

You get power for the reverse sensors from the trailer wiring harness ... no need to tap or splice wires from the reverse light ... for the Subaru Forester there is a trailer wiring harness hidden at the driver side rear cargo panel ... not sure if it's the same for the Subaru XV Crosstrek ...

If I opt to have Parking Sensors installed from an outside party, will my warranty get void? It's just that the rear parking sensors from the casa are overpriced at 6.5K and they're only 2-eye. I can source my own, either from the US or anywhere locally, that has 8 sensors (front and rear) and even with a display at a significantly lower price (less than 2K).

2 days ago yung friend ko kakakuha lang XV niya (base variant) SA offered free backup sensors, other than that no freebies or discount.

The catch, it was installed sa office namin gulat kame and warned our friend.

Kaso done deal na nga and excited na din sa unit. Installer is from Subaru din, alam niya gagawin niya. We clarified sa SA bakit ganun kako? Parang outsourced yung back up sensor, baka mavoid nga warranty.

Eh alam mo naman mga ahente, hindi yan ma void kaso walang in writing. Nilabas mo sa casa wala yung accessory na yun eh.

If sa casa daw i-install he will be charged daw, na hindi ko magets bakit pag sa labas hindi siya ma charge?

Pero ang ganda nung XV hehe

Dame nga niya tanong, sabi ko basahin manual.

Yes, compatible ang HU with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Sabihin mo sa friend mo magpost siya dito if may tanong siya pero mas maganda talagang basahin muna yung manual

Yes 2 sensors lang, okay naman yung blend in a way hindi naman contrast masyado sa body color.

I'm choosing between ultrasonic and electromagnetic though. Pero may mga disadvantages din ang electromagnetic like activated lang siya during car movement so kapag nagstop ka at a point during backing up, magrereset yung electromagnetic mapping niya.

I'm planning to have them installed both in the rear and front. Are you thinking of having ultrasonic sensors installed too?
