Discounts are really dependent on the dealers stock in hand and the rate at which a particular model is being sold.

If the unit you want is not selling well and they have a lot of stock, Or if it is an outgoing model and the new one is just a few months away: expect larger discounts on these units.

I bought my 2012 Forester at a large discount of 200k because the new model was coming the next month and this unit had been in stock for months already.

I have also encountered a measly 10k discount on a hot item from them. I even had to haggle hard and work the different sales agents to find one that would give me a discount.

Inquire about cash price outright, don't even pay attention to the in-house "installment" offerings. Get the biggest cash discount you can get -- then have them give you an official quote for the price. Then go shop around banks for loans with the quote in-tow.

When dealing with banks -- negotiate for a long-term loan first, the lowest you can get for example 5 years to pay. Then have them re-calculate to shorter-term, like 3 years. Then have them re-calculate for 1 month advance.

Then compare N-term, OMA loans and try to have the banks match the offer of the other. You can even have them re-calculate because "nadagdagan pang downpayment ko" -- you just have to be really meticulous about this and make sure every time you ask them to re-calculate you are getting a lower interest rate.

Downside is you need to do this for about 2-3 months, because they will be deliberately slow to respond. They are betting on people that are "biling-bili na", so don't be that guy. Plan your purchase months ahead and buy only when "pigang-piga na".

Thanks for these tips! Will try this... [emoji16] lower interest rates + free chattel and 1 year insurance... not bad at all if 2-3months lang investment mo... hehe..

Thanks! The discount pag Eyesight is 50k, pag base and premium nasa 80k daw. Sana naman taasan nila...

The drawbackmis the eyesight price is comparable na sa fortuner G version... parang hindi na sulit when the prices are that close.

Test drive both kapag parehas na nasa budget mo. Jan mo malalaman if gusto mo talaga, minsan sa spec sheet leaning towards one car ka, pero after test drive mag-iiba isip mo. This happened to me, CX-5 top 1 ko sa spec sheet, ended up buying the XV after test-driving both.

If may pasahero ka, isama mo rin to weigh-in kung saan mas maganda maging pasahero.

Only skip the test drive pag barya lang sayo yun gagastusin haha.

I came from a 2002 civic, with all 4 shock absorbers busted na yata, looking back now yun decision ko talaga influenced by how different the ride was -- kung gano ka-stable yun XV compared to kung gano kabilis yun CX-5. I went for the stable feeling -- then now na mag-f-1st 6 months ko na gamit, pinaka-enjoy ko yun HU/android auto and adaptive cruise control.

Thanks Don900! Your points are all good. I use a 2015 hilux, but i also have a 2004 escape and another sedan.

Practicality talaga yung iniicip ko ngayun. While i really like the XV for its tech features, running and maintenance costs really rack up compared to the fortuner (gas, maintnenance?). Sa space also dehado.

But if they make the discount more attractive, ah XV premium or eyesight na hehehehe

I got my unit last May. The agent offered me 100k plus the manager offered 30k additional discount to trade with the free rain visor, seat cover floor matt dahil wala daw silang stock at that time. Hindi na ko nagpakipot of course!

Sulit yun Eyesight, had my first big save 2 weeks ago!

Driving along Ortigas at Around 6:30 AM. If you catch the green light at Santolan intersection at onti lang ang sasakyan, coming from Granada, you can pretty much catch all green lights until mag EDSA na if you drive a certain pace. So anyone na sanay mag drive along this road ng ganitong oras sanay na jan, lalo na mga iwas-coding tulad ko.

May Red Everest ako kasabay that seems to know the same, I was at the rightmost lane, sya sa middle. Magkatabi kami stopped sa Santolan cor. ortigas, frontmost sa linya. Pag green ng Santolan andar kami agad. We passed Madison greenligt, then Roosvelt greenlight --- since sanay ako na red light din naman aabutan sa EDSA, sakto lang ako hindi masyado kasaksero, so eventually nauna sakin ng onti si Red Everest. Club Filipino greenlight, saw him signal right so okay, you take the lane nauuna ka rin lang, I slowed down a bit.

Looks like he's gonna turn right sa Wilson, so I signaled-left na, then slowly started taking the center lane checking my left side-mirror. There's another car, faster pace, so I let this other car pass as well before taking the center lane.

Mag-f-full stop! Squeaking tires and all!

Hindi man lang ako naka busina.

May lubak kasi yun rightmost lane, and imbis na iwasan nya ng onti no issue, napa-mash sya ng brake hindi siguro nakita.

So now, suit na binayad ko hehehe.
