There are EQ+Spatial Positioning settings in the HU if di patok sa tenga mo -- just look for it in the settings kung.. teka..
Bakit absolute crap saan mo knocompare pala?

Crap = kulang sa treb/bass etc etc -- kaya ng EQ settings yan
-or-
Crap = walang sinabi sa high end living room sound system -- e gagastos ka talaga, upgrade mo nalang yun speakers to Kenwood/JBL/Alpine etc

"Crap" as in "my gen 2.5 Vios has better FM reception and sound quality"

No complaints when the music is coming from Spotify via Android Auto or Apple Carplay though.

I can't boost the settings too much to make FM sound nice because it messes up the sound when I switch to other sources. The HU of the base model does not have separate EQ settings for each source.

I understand that there are EQ and spacial positioning settings in the HU. I've played around with most of the settings. It is not the lack of treble, mids, and bass that bother me with the speakers and/or sound system. It's the rather poor quality of the said outputs.

I agree with the comment that the quality of the audio source HEAVILY affects the quality of output. The difference is even noticeable between the stream quality settings on spotify. Make sure your stream quality is set to high or the highest if you use spotify, or download at the highest quality. That said, even with a CD, the highest quality audio files, the speakers and the amps simply does not cut it for a car at this price level. Even my 4/2 year old montero annd fortuner has a better sound quality.

Also, once the volume is raised above the half way point , the bass is lowered to protect the speakers for warranty purposes. This is terribly annoying, and we should have an option to opt out.

Has anyone found out how to activate beeps or some kind of audible notification for when we lock/unlock the car? (2.0-i)

Also, is there any way to set off an alarm from the keyfob? (2.0-i)

Does the engine stutter go away after a while?

I asked my SA about this before and he said our unit doesn't have a car alarm. This was also confirmed by the service guy when I went to have my first PMS today. BTW, my unit is a 2.0i-s.

They have no impact alarms but I believe the horn will sound if the doors are locked and opened from the inside. Anyone willing to try? ;)

how does this perform compared to the 2018 audi q2? just scouting for opinions since im planning to switch from audi to subaru

The local Audi Q2 comes in FWD layout and powered by a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo engine (116hp/200Nm) mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch tranny. The XV will give you more for something about half the price of a Q2.

Audi features are much more premium though than Subaru.

I think medyo plain lang kasi yun audio software nitong HU natin.
Sa lumang stereo systems, madalas may enhancement settings/gimmicks like loud mode or tipong FM radio clarity mode etc.
For example sa dati kong civic, sa FM pag nag dead air, nag-m-mute automatically yun stereo para di mo rinig yun white noise, tapos pag pangit signal in-e-enhance nya -- wala yun HU natin nito. Hula ko lang, baka yan yun meron sa Montero/Fortuner mo.

Samantalang itong HU natin sa XV plain output lang, walang enhancement. Mas malapit na kasi sa computer yun HU kesa sa stereo eh. Pag bad quality yun source, di nya papagandahin -- so bad MP3, Low quality FM signal, ayan rinig na rining. I think a way around this is if may sound enhancement yun phone mo or yun player sa phone -- or high quality yun files like FLAC or FLAC rip ang i-play.

At least yan lang naiisip ko na free fix, bago gumastos sa upgrade.

Wife and her colleagues used the XV on a long trip to Liliw and back. They were used to PPVs so didn't know what to expect.

"Sarap pala ng ride neto"
"Sakto lang ang size"
"Maluwag naman pala dito sa likod"
"SUV pala to. Kala ko kotse lang minamaneho ko." - coming from the driver/colleague when he looked back at the XV after the first leg of the trip
"Hi-tech ng radyo"
"4wd pala to?"
"Sarap ng takbo di mo akalain lampas 100 na pala"

And the best part:
"1.34M lang pala to? Kala namin dahil Subaru 2M na"

Looks like we've made some converts here
