    I don't think AWD is necessary in a small CUV that isn't used for rough roads anyway. It's added weight which can affect fuel economy.

    For cars like the Juke and Ecosport which have small engines, AWD is more of a burden than a boon.

    Out of the hundreds of XVs sold in a month, very few do. And those that do most probably know enough about cars to differentiate the XV from the other soft-roader subcompact CUVs.

    Very few SUVs go offroad. Period.
    Id say more Forester/XV owners go offroad occasionally than Fortuner/Everest/Montero owners.

    Yes, some people do. They even go off roading in their LC200s. The question is Would You?

    The benefits of an all wheel drive doesn't only belong to off roading. Yes there is the added fuel consumption.

    But when you compare the XV to other CUVs, the AWD of the XV is a benefit Juke and CX-3 don't have.
