Good day, sir!
I believe 265/70r17 should fit the stock 17x7.5 (mininum required rim width is 7; max is 8.5) wheel easily with no rubbing sa inner fender well and mud guard. I've read that some have upgraded to 265/75r16 M/T tires on 16x8 wheels with no rubbing. Parehong 32" ang 265/70r17 at 265/75r16. Mud terrain pa nga gamit ng iba. You might want to consider Cooper Discoverer AT3 kung mostly highway ang application. Pero baka mabitin ka sa looks. Mas maangas talaga ang ST Maxx.

December 22nd, 2011 05:38 AM #1447sir strad3200,
i'm using a 265/75/16 (32") ST Maxx which is equivalent to your intended 265/70/17 tire. i think the strada and montero shares the same stock tires which is 265/65/17 (31"), hence you are plus sizing an inch over the stock tires. on my ride, there is a slight rub at 3/4 turn where the front tires hit the lower back side of the front corner chin. my rim is 16x8 so the 265mm tire width sits perfectly well.
my brother's dmax is using 265/75/16 ST Maxx on a stock 16x7 rims before. the tires looked like a donut.
now, he's using a 16x8 rim with zero offset, the tires looked better and sticked out of the fender.

Posting pics of my truck with the Carryboy canopy. Had the roll bar removed and the canopy installed July of this year.
I removed the sliding glass of the canopy so that I can fully utilize the use of the power rear window of my truck.
Then filled the gap between the canopy and the cabin with rubber stripping and sealed the joints with black silicon rubber.
