    Oh! bad place for the cupholders. Kaya pala wala ako makita anywhere near the shifter, just some odd curves. What a waste of space.

    It's a bit overpriced, IMO, specially considering its looks. Mas magandang value ang Kyron methinks.

    Basing my opinion on our Stavic, I have the following obesrvations though:

    1. Hindi ko ma judge ang ride and handling dahil that's pretty unique for each ride and I haven't test driven it, but in the Stavic, it's excellent kaya the problem might have to do with the model and/or car itself talaga rather than the brand. Also, I don't think they do a very thorough pre-turnover checklist (our Stavic had an engine optimization problem na walang ilaw pero made its performance very poor nung una), so it just MIGHT need some adjusting;

    2. Resale is low but as long as you don't keep it for too short a time and if you can get a good discount, the better your net resale experience will be. If you're just planning to keep it for a year or two, this car is NOT for you;

    3. The aircon is NOT weak. The reason first impressions imply that it is, is because it has DUAL cabin filters with a very fine mesh (like the MB). Tinanggal ko yung sa Stavic namin and it's just as good as our Gen 3 Starex now. Pero balak namin ibalik yung isa with a lower level of fine ness sana.

    4. Color selection can be problematic but I think the owners are in it for the long haul because it's the ONLY brand they have where they don't have to go through a local head office. Besides, from the fit and finish, it seems they made the things to last.

    Yun lang po. My .02.

    Rx290 yun kay kcboy. It uses the old school, no computer om662 mercedes engine same as in the musso. Average fc for that was 8km/l.

    Later rx270 used the hightech 2.7 mercedes engine used in the euro Jeep.and mb m class.

    I'll share my experiences of ups/downs through the years of owning a 2005 Rexton 2.7xdi

    Until 2008, maintenance was under warranty so gastos ko lang ay oil change + filters. Service adviser or SA's nila ay hindi ganun kagaling (Wheels E. Rod), One day after going through my 40 or 50k service schedule maingay na dashboard ko kasi mukhang may screw/clip sila hindi nabalik.

    My Rex was semi-hit by ondoy when I tried to remove it from outside my house who's already flooded almost knee-high length, thankful hindi umabot sa engine bay pero naapektohan starter ko.

    Brought to Wheels Macapagal after a few weeks kasi tumatakbo pa naman, bigla na lang nanginginig yun car and hirap na mag start.

    It stayed there in Macapagal branch for a whole month before they had it towed to E.Rod!!! 1 month upon my persistent follow-ups, and stayed in E. Rod for another more than 6 months kasi nakapila mga na ondoy, They only got to my car after I talked to their service manager na to drain fuel tank, change oil, check electrical circuits and check starter...in short ako na nag diagnose, so results were ok pa daw oil ko, pinaayos nila yun starter ko kasi may electrical problem nga and drained fuel. Thats it! almost 8 months nawala sa akin just because they're too lazy to check.

    Fast forward

    Oil filters I bought from Rona mercedes benz parts shop in Q. ave, brake pads kay bendix same as starex or montero sport forgot which one. Clutch fan I suggest buy from shops who sell euro car parts. crankshaft and camshaft sensors, vaccuum modulator, pulleys, belt tensioner , belts, maf sensor etc. all bought online, I even invested in a bluetooth obd2 scanner.

    Problem with owning a Rexton dapat may kilala kang specialista ng Ssangyong, a talyer tried to replace my valve cover gasket tapos ayaw na mag start, oil was leaking onto a hose that caused it to balloon and rupture so nag nauubos yun radiator fluid so 6 months and counting andun pa din sa talyer nila Rex ko, now they said sira 2pcs injector ko so looking for surplus injectors because 25k each ang brand new.

    All in all, engine is powerful and built of the car is unlike those of Japanese made ang tibay ng kaha sobra. Sad lang na I think most of the old Rexton that used to ply the roads are parked in their garages kasi ayaw mag start, I used to live in multinational village and when I was looking for a house I found 3 rexton na hindi na umaandar.

    FYI x3 or more ang price ng parts if you buy from Wheels and it'll take them 2-3 months for parts to arrive. Mine arrived in just 2 weeks.

    Rexton is sensitive to air pressure/vacuum. Malaki degradation ng hatak if may vacuum leak.

    Wala lang ako alam na surplusan na may tinda ng rexton parts.

    Sir, where to get front wheel bearings for your ride and the other Ssangyong brethren? Casa currently has no stock. Thanks in advance.
