That is probably the next step for me. I'd love to build my own MTB, the expense though is scary. Hehe.

Depende naman yan bro if you want to build a bike for exercise or a bike pamporma.

I have a friend who has a P5,000 built-bike from Quiapo but can outclimb those with hundred thousand peso bikes in Timberland.

A decent hardtail good for cross-country rides and light trails will set you back around 30-70k depending on the parts. A decent full suspension bike for more challenging rides will start at 75k until kingdom come. You don't need a full suspension bike if you just plan to climb inclines or go on long rides.

Tuhod boy ang kaibigan mo hahaha

But seriously, tama ka. Then bili ka ng magaan (maybe a road bike) in case ma-tripan mong mag long ride.

Never nag-trail. Pinalitan ko ng road-tire. Pero iwan pa din ako lagi ng mga kasama ko kasi naka-road bike silang lahat. and take note most of them have 100K worth road bikes, some full carbon. kung yung akin 14kgs ang bigat, baka 7kgs lang yung kanila. pero no worries dahil exercise naman ang habol at wala sa budget ang mahal na bike.

Napa-check mo na ba tuhod mo? Ganyan ako dati due to running din, although very short distance lang. Unang sumakit yung right then left. Xray revealed chondromalacia (cartilage behind the pattella is degraded). Did therapy and drank some glucosamine supplement.

And now almost pain-free na tuhod ko kahit tumakbo ako.

Tapos bumababad sa machines And that's across all generations. I just wear souvenir t-shirts or corporate give away t-shirts when I workout My then BF gave me so many give away tshirts ng bihon (Super Q) hahaha! But I didn't wear that to the gym because it's too sheer

All these gym talk makes me miss the "friends" I made at the gym Pinagtatanggol nila ako against treadmill hogs

Didn't that long climb up Crosswinds hurt?

Me I have slipped discs kaya I can't work out much. Only light weights, walking and the elliptical.

Would be great to find a trainer who can do core strengthening with people with my condition.

climbing is easy kuya, going down is harder on the knees, crosswind is easy kuya, you should see the climb from casile (marcos mansion) to palace in the sky, if your looking for a trainer, go chk AF, some of them are PTs and very knowlegable...if you have a chance, go chk out doing crossfit also..
