I wouldn't be surprised if these vaping research or bad press are sponsored by the tobacco industry.

I don’t really give much credence to conspiracy theories.
Ever since the Vaping trend started years ago, most of the people who have a bit of medical sense are sceptical of the pronouncements then that Vaping is safe. How can you say that inhaling vaporized chemicals into the body is safe? Unfortunately, the trend was still new & doctors had no proof that it isn’t safe. No one will open up a perfectly healthy, live person just to see, right? So, fast forward to the present where deaths start coming in. Of course, autopsies will be done to find out. So, those aren’t research funded by tobacco companies. Besides, tobacco companies joined in on the trend by selling their own brand of vaping liquid IIRC.

Duterte bans use, importation of e-cigarettes | Inquirer News

“Vaping is also dangerous, I am banning it. If you are smoking now, you will be arrested,” Duterte said in a hastily called press conference In Malacañang Tuesday night
"I will order law enactment to arrest anybody vaping in public,” he added.

“I hope everybody is listening. You now why? Because it is toxic and the government has the power to issue measures to protect public health and public interest.”
baka maging part 2 eto: part 1 war on drugs, part2 war on vaping
