Hmmm... thread back from the dead!
Got one of these bikes last month for a friend... pero kailangan talagang mapili ka... some of the stock is obviously in good condition... some not so good.
Would have gotten one of those hub-centric gearchange bikes, but the mechanism was wonky... settled for one with no gears but no body rust, good tires and good alignment.

Yun nga lang... kailangan palitan ang seat at yung handgrips... but it's still a ways cheaper than the mall stuff. Though, personally... for a real bike (not a folding bike for inner village travel but a good MTB or racer) I'd rather have the thing assembled at a local shop.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

March 24th, 2010 12:51 PM #38Yes I believe it is safe. This is bicycle, not a motorcycle. There are a lot of bike surplus in Japan. In fact the rule of thumb there is that whenever you see a bike with no lock, you can take it. A lot of abandoned bikes in train stations there.

meron ako nito for almost a year now. ginagamit ko papuntang tennis court very useful ang basket kapag tapos na maglaro kasi dun tambakan nang tennis shoes ko at mga nagamit na mga tshirt
i'm actually thinking of repainting it again kasi nalaspag na ng mga bata at househelp sa bahay. had it actually immediately repainted last year when i got it. refinished it w/ the combo colors of silver & passion orange
and yes, it's very safe....so far

So can anyone actually post where in Malabon or other places within the metro where these can be bought cheaply?
Choice I would have made as well.
