September 3rd, 2007 07:16 PM #26My wife started suffering from hyperacidity mid-year last year. The doctor gave her esomeprazole and omeprazole each for a period of time. Walang dramatic change na nangyari (even when coupled with a change in diet, konti). May isang tv show kami napanood recommending hyperacidity sufferers to drink a glass of water na pinigaan ng 10 pcs. of calamansi every morning before eating or drinking anything (sa umpisa, malulukot talaga mukha mo sa lasa, but eventually masasanay ka din). She tried it and after ilang araw lang, very effective na. Up to now, yun ang daily routine nya and she never went back to drinking any meds (na napakamahal pa naman). Kapag umaabsent sya sa pag-inom, inaatake pa rin. Minsan, she alternates the calamansi with any freshly squeezed fruit/vegetable juice (apple, pineapple, carrot, tomato, watermelon or a combination of these), di pa rin sya inaatake. Mas lalong effective ito kapag umiiwas or binabawasan ang kain ng mga bawal na pagkain at syempre, allot 2 hours na walang kinakain before going to bed.

wildthing: so in your case, lack of acid yun...
Actually, there are long-term solutions to these things apart from not skipping meals or eating too much etc...
I've had hyperacidity bouts since grade school, I remember back in college and even just last year, I had cases where I literally dropped and curled down on the floor for at least 15-30 mins due to the pain (I don't have ulcers, yet, for whatever strange reason).
Then when I started changing my diet (when I started serious gym/bodybuilding days) I stayed with good, slow-burning carbs with a lot of fiber, eating 6-8 small meals, etc... I never had a single case of heartburn/acidity bouts for about 1.5years... Even if I drink craploads of dairy.

since 1980 pa ako hyperacidic. i had been taking cimetidine then ng lumabas ang ranitidine nag ranitidine na ako at iyun na ang lagi kong tini-take until now. I had prescriptions and took proton pumps inhibitor like losec and the likes medyo mahal lang ito, but then ito pa rin sakit ko, I say na, hooked na ako to this drugs and for a long time na. so, i hope this will be the answer. hulog ka ng langit sir juntzo.
anyway i'v been drinking cinnamon tea for about two months na kasi sabi ok daw sa sakit na ito lalo na sa lowering ng blood sugar, cholesterol and free radicals. di ko nga masyadong maintendihan itong free radicals na ito eh. all i know, during our college days and if my memory serves me right eh yun yung losely bound electrons sa outermost layer ng atoms. but anyway it has something to do with our immune system and aging process daw.

What I have is GERD or Reflux Disease .
Long time sufferer na, 3 years I think. Tried everything including Nexium but then so far Kremil-S has done the trick but the best way to cure hyperacidity, at least in my case is:
1. Exercise at least twice a week.
2. Avoid the following drinks: Coffee, Softdrinks, any kind of juice.
3. Sleep early (yeah right, how can I when I'm glued here sa Tsikot! )
4. Lessen intake of Fatty/Fried food like burgers, fries, most fastfood.
5. Avoid your mother-in-law.
