League reviewing Bowen-Paul play
By Johnny Ludden, Yahoo! Sports Staff 9 hours, 18 minutes ago
Bruce Bowen’s feet once again have caught the attention of the NBA office, a league
official said Thursday.
The league is reviewing an incident between the San Antonio Spurs forward and New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul that occurred midway through the third quarter of the Hornets’ 100-75 victory on Wednesday.
After Paul lost control of his dribble and went to the floor to corral the ball, Bowen reached down to tie him up and his legs became entangled with Paul. Video replays showed Bowen trying to initially fling Paul off him, then he appeared to catch him again with his right foot as Paul tried to sit up.
Paul was whistled for a foul, but protested that Bowen had kicked him.
The league official said Paul’s actions also were being examined – he flung his arms up at Bowen – during the review of the play. An official from the NBA’s security office also has put in a call to Bowen to discuss the play – standard protocol for such incidents.
Opponents have complained on several occasions about Bowen’s aggressive defense, in particular the use of his feet. New York Knicks coach Isiah Thomas told his players last season to “break (Bowen’s) foot” when Steve Francis rolled his ankle in a previous game after landing on Bowen following a jump shot. NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson warned Bowen about giving shooters proper landing space but did not fine him.
Bowen, who made his 500th consecutive start for the Spurs on Wednesday, has never been suspended by the league. He was fined $10,000 two seasons ago for kicking then-Seattle SuperSonics guard Ray Allen in the back.
During last season’s playoffs, Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire accused Bowen of trying to kick him in the back of the leg. Bowen received a flagrant foul in a later game for kneeing Suns point guard Steve Nash in the groin while trying to clear space.

nasabi ko na yata ito, but i'll say it again. someone needs to give Bruce Bowen a taste of his own medicine. it is not cool to deliberately try to injure someone and threaten their livelihood like he does every night.
one day, one of these GM's should sign someone like Danny Fortson to a 10 day contract the week they play the Spurs, and tell him to just kick the ever-lovin sh1t out of Bowen...yung tipong siya naman ang out for the season :twak:
i would be standing and applauding in my living room if that happened

The thing is, will anyone care if Bowen is out, not like he impacts the game in any way positively and not like anyone will remember him a year after he retires...
Dapat sa kanya ma-trade sa Knicks....

March 15th, 2008 09:09 PM #8770Twenty-one in a row? Seven weeks ago, Houston began this run while stuck in 10th place in the fiercest conference race the league has seen in years. They’ll awake Saturday morning holding a share of first.
“Maybe we’re the luckiest team in the history of NBA basketball,” Rockets forward Shane Battier said. “But if that’s our distinction, it’s fine by us.”
Lucky is one of the nicer descriptions the Rockets have heard over the past few weeks, and they had a hard time denying it Friday when the stars continued to align for them over the NBA cosmos. Pau Gasol of the Lakers limped off the court in New Orleans with an ankle sprain. Three quarters later, the Hornets’ David West did the same. Half a country away in Boston, the Celtics’ Ray Allen couldn’t finish the game because of a heel injury.
The Rockets’ next three opponents: Lakers, Celtics and Hornets.
Hehe.... So possible 24 straight? I'd love to witness that :D
