February 16th, 2007 08:39 AM #7161Pierce expressed frustration over the state of the team -- not a surprising development. Living up to his nickname, "The Truth," Pierce spoke candidly about being on a lottery-bound outfit at this point in his career.
"Definitely, I'm frustrated," Pierce said. "I never thought in my ninth year I'd be playing on a team with the worst record in the NBA at this point in the season. It's tough for us to even talk playoffs right now because of the situation we're in. So definitely the frustration is up."
Pierce reiterated his desire that if the Celtics end up with one of the top two picks, they trade it for veteran help.
"I'm in my ninth year. How much longer do I got to play?" said Pierce. "You get another project in here. We got, I think, plenty of those, a guy who is going to be ready in four or five years. I'm going to be ready for retirement by then."

too little, too late... dumbass!
Following his homophobic comments on talk radio, retired guard Tim Hardaway has been banished from this weekend's All-Star festivities in Las Vegas.
"It is inappropriate for him to be representing us given the disparity between his views and ours," NBA Commissioner David Stern said in a statement on Thursday. Hardaway, who remarked on the air that he hates gay people, has made another comment in attempt to quell the firestorm. "As an African-American, I know all too well the negative thoughts and feelings hatred and bigotry cause," Hardaway said in a statement issued by his agent. "I regret and apologize for the statements that I made that have certainly caused the same kinds of feelings and reactions."
