McInnis Left off Active List, Tries to Play and is Ejected
Associated Press
McInnis
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A rare scorekeeping error caused Charlotte guard Jeff McInnis to be ejected in the first quarter of the Bobcats' game against Philadelphia on Saturday.
A Bobcats employee turned in an official roster before the game that did not include McInnis as an active player. McInnis was acquired in a trade from New Jersey on Jan. 4 and Saturday was Charlotte's first home game since the deal.
McInnis entered the game with 3:15 left in the first quarter. The 76ers called attention to the error eight seconds later during a break in play after a foul was called.
Referee Dick Bavetta called an official timeout and players from both teams went to the bench for several minutes before it was announced the Bobcats were called for a technical foul and McInnis was ejected.
Bobcats coach Bernie Bickerstaff looked at the incorrect roster before slamming it to the table and walking back to the bench.
In a sheet handed out to the media before the game, injured players Brevin Knight, Gerald Wallace and Melvin Ely were listed as the three inactive players for the game.
McInnis' ejection left Raymond Felton as the Bobcats' only true point guard. Knight has been sidelined for 12 games with a torn abdominal muscle.

Friday, Jan 12, 2007 12:00 pm EST
The New Jersey Nets are looking to trade for Seattle SuperSonics guard Ray Allen and Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett. Nets forward Vince Carter and guard Jason Kidd could be included a trade.
When asked what the Nets want for Carter, a league source said, "They want everything." The Nets want a combination of players, including one big man, and draft picks. For Kidd, they would want more.

Pistons win sweepstakes, will sign Webber Tuesday
By Mark Stein
Chris Webber is headed to Motown.
Webber told ESPN.com that he has chosen to sign with the Detroit Pistons and is flying home Monday to spend Martin Luther King Day with family members.
He can officially sign with the Pistons on Tuesday after clearing waivers.
Webber has been at the center of speculation since being waived by the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, with the Lakers, Pistons, Heat, and Mavericks listed among the top candidates for Webber's new home.
"There has been nothing that has turned him against Detroit," Webber's agent, Aaron Goodwin, said in the Detroit News prior to Webber's decision. "Detroit has been professional and aggressive in their pursuit. They have let Chris know how badly they want him, and that's been from Joe [Dumars] to Flip [Saunders] and down to the players.
"Nothing has turned negative against Detroit, other than other Eastern Conference teams not wanting him to go to Detroit," Goodwin said in the News.
The Pistons are 21-14 and in second place in the Central Division.
Webber talked with the Lakers on Saturday.
"It was a good conversation both ways," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson, quoted in the Los Angeles Times on Monday. "He's got a decision to make. He didn't give me any indication. I just told him that he could help us ... He wants significant minutes. I said, 'I don't know what that converts to, but you can have an influence on the team.' That's all any player can really want."

i voted for:
East:
Lebron
Bosh
Gil Zero
Wade
D Howard
West:
Boozer
Dirk
Kobe
Nash
Amare
it was painful leaving KG, Duncan, Melo, Marion and Brand off the ballot, but the West forward spots are ridiculously stacked. even Josh Howard merits some votes, and if Rashard didn't get injured it would be a crime to leave him off as well. Yao should have rightfully been the starting C for the west if he hadn't gotten injured.
