Denvers looks like a strong contender for the AI sweeps...they have expiring or huge contracts in Nene and 1 or 2 first round picks that Philly really likes to get to the Greg Oden stakes by June 07.

The official whirled around and pulled his whistle toward his mouth for a second technical.

And I swear on my daughter's life, the following moment happened: As the official started to blow the whistle, Iverson's eyes widened and he moved angrily toward the official, almost like someone getting written up for a parking ticket who decides it would just be easier to punch out the meter maid. For a split-second, there was real violence in the air. Of course, the rattled official lowered his whistle and never called the second T. By sheer force of personality, Iverson kept himself in the game.

Look, I'm not condoning what happened. It was a frightening moment. At the same time, I haven't seen a player bully a referee like that before or since. And that goes back to the "seeing him in person" thing. Iverson plays with a compelling, hostile, bloodthirsty energy that the other players just don't have. He's relentless in every sense of the word. He's a warrior. He's an alpha dog. He's a tornado. He's so fast and coordinated that it genuinely defies description. He's just crazy enough that officials actually cower in his presence. And none of this makes total sense unless you've seen him.

    Hindi ko alam to ah????
I bet he won't pull that kind of $hit with the late Earl Strom officiating. I guess there is basis for the unwritten "respect the game" rule now where officials can call a T just by a player gesticulating or throwing his fist in protest of a call.

i've followed AI pretty religiously since he's one of my fave players. i always try to catch the Philly games when they're in town. obviously i would dearly love for him to come to Miami. for all his individual stardom, D-Wade is the consummate team player and he knows how to work well and endear himself to guys with superstar egos (look how much Shaq and Toine like him).

i really believe that AI has the respect and admiration of everyone in the league with the exception of the media. Philly fan or hater, you have to admire the way he puts it all out on the line every minute he's on the floor, and how his talent and sheer ferocity dominates guys a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier. kids in the arenas love him, and he routinely makes the Heat fans at AA arena applaud him (the opposing star!) with the things he does.

like Bill Simmons, i have a few teams circled on my calendar as games i must attend if i can - the Lakers (my hometown team), Suns, Cavaliers, TWolves and Sixers. it's because guys like Kobe, Nash, Lebron, KG and AI are worth the price of admission. of course if AI comes here i can see 2 of my favorite players every time

NBA league sources say that the Denver Nuggets are close to a deal that would bring All-star point guard Allen Iverson from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Mile High City.

    ...

The sources say the deal could be reached as early as Friday.

A source familiar with negotiations says it would be a complicated trade involving at least three teams and at least five players. In addition, the Nuggets would likely have to give up both of their first round draft picks in the next draft.
    friday na ngayon ah...
