i never said cwebb was worth the 20 million either... and obviously neither is allan houston's 20 million paycheck.
what about comparing his 21 million dollar salary to players who actually deserve what they're getting.

elton brand is getting 14 mil
    dirk 15 mil
now those salaries are worth every penny. all im saying is these teams end doing better than teams with 2 players bulk of the salary cap

phillie is second in the league in payroll, 40% goes to cwebb and ai.
c webb and ai salaries are already 70% of the freaking salary cap allotment!!

^hmmm....but Brand and Dirk are not frontrunners for the MVP candidate every season they step on the floor. the only guys who get that kind of respect over the long run are KG, Duncan and Shaq (used to be), and maaaaybe Nash after his back to back.

kg hasn't been a front runner for the trophy since he won it in 03-04....
it was always guys coming from winning teams....

next year itl be 22 million.
would you rather have kg + one of his so called supporting casts (hudson, jaric, blount) earning a combined 29 million.
    or

    ray ray and elton brand
    or
    kobe and mike bibby?

    heck id rather have
    joe johnson and dirk

heck, for 29 million i'll have Chris Paul (3M), Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard (all under 5M)

there are always better bargains out there...

i meant at the start of the season, before the games are played, only those 3 players have commanded enough respect for the past 10 years to automatically be considered an MVP candidate before they even step on the floor. put another way, all the guys you mentioned above are stars....but only a handful of guys are THE franchise. with Shaq's decline, it's really only KG and TD, with Lebron and Wade probably entering that pantheon in a year or so.

all the guys you mentioned are still under their rookie contracts.... obviously it'll be low.
i specifically mentioned guys who signed their contracts at the peak of their careers.
