January 7th, 2004 09:49 AM #522marbury always wanted to play for the knicks (as a native new yorker himself)
mcdyess and kurt thomas are battling one position so one of them was booted out, sayang mcdyess was just getting back to form, (btw he's a former sun)
i like mcdyess for the knicks sana si houston na lang ang pinalit kay starbury, why? salary cap, lagpas sobra ang salary cap ng knicks. tapos wala pa silang masyadong big men
big men nila had pass their prime.
also knicks traded away their 2 ist round picks, tsk tsk
isiah making a sudden impact on the knicks.

I just pity Suns for trading their best player to the Knicks. With this move, they already threw the towel this season. I guess if they really want to rebuild next year, they need to land a top notch free agent. However, Mcdyess is not yet in his top form and the moment he does (big question mark) maybe the last laugh will come from the Sun's GM.
Knicks really wants to get to the playoffs badly. My guess is Isiah wants to to get back at Indiana for firing him as coach this season. But still who can they match against the Jermaine O'Neal? Dikembe, Thomas, Van Horn...no way.

di rin naman ako maka panood eh sayang naman.
ownertype,
suns defenitely threw the towel already, but what they still have is a young core players
marion & amare plus mcdyess
plus project lamjpe
also future TWO FIRST ROUND draft picks
what they need is a solid center and a pass first point guard

curious din ako magkano nga ba ang NBA league pass dito sa pinas? di pa kasi ako nakakapag inquire sa Home Cable e. Sa napanood ko kanina the Knicks definitely need a reliable big man in the middle sana nakuha pa nila si Mutombo nung medyo bata pa ito

The way I see it? Suns get the better of the deal. I mean, come on. If you're in the West, there's a 12/15 chance that your team won't make it to the finals. The title is hovering over only three teams this season: LA, SA, ans Sac. Not Dallas, not Minnesota, and not any team from the East.
So what is the best thing to do when your seemingly potent squad has reached its extremum? Give yourself a chance to matter. This will come in the future, of course. But even with Starbury, they are getting nowhere anyway. To begin with, there's very little glory in getting into the playoffs and going home three games later. But the Suns, as they are, had no chance to get to the playoffs anyway. Why not build for the future?
McDyess's contract expires next year. Ward is to be waived. Lampe is full of potential. While they had a roster which included a half-baked all-star in Marbury, an athletic swingman in Marion, and a potential powerhouse in Stoudemire, they lack one thing: greatness. Now they will have the chance to get that greatness. Kobe Bryant is big enough a prize to risk the loss of your star player. And by the looks of things, Kobe wants to leave the Lakers.
If not Kobe, perhaps someone else. But the Suns realized that the ingredient for success that they've been looking for was not in their roster. It may not be in their roster today, either, but they've given themselves a chance to add it in the future.
If everything fails, they could look to the draft.
Thread was made nung 2018 pa po sir.
