I think Steve Nash won because he led his team without their franchise player to the Pacific Division title, given Phoenix still has a lot of talent on their roster but Nash is the motor that gets them going. The overall performance of the team comes first when handing out this award thats why showmen like Vince Carter and Dominique never won. Also there is a Defensive player of the Year award for stoppers
