June 27th, 2005 05:10 PM #3291Leonard K. Bias (November 18, 1963 – June 19, 1986) was a basketball player who died of a cocaine overdose less than 48 hours after being selected by the Boston Celtics in the 1986 NBA Draft.
From Landover, Maryland, Bias attended the University of Maryland where he became a star player and All-American. Wearing number 34, he impressed basketball fans with his amazing leaping ability and his ability to create plays. He was selected as Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year in 1985 and 1986. Bias was selected second overall in the 1986 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.
Bias died on June 19, 1986 of a cocaine overdose in a dorm on the College Park campus. Bias was 22 years old
well i shouldnt call len bias a bust (my bad) since he didnt step on the pro courts, i should put him in my "what might have been" list...
imagine len bias along with bird/mchale/parish/ainge and DJ tapos a few years pa Reggie Lewis (who died also kaso heart related) haaay what might have been talaga...Last edited by kimpOy; June 27th, 2005 at 05:37 PM.

How about YUTA TABUSE of Japan who played for the Phoenix Suns, does he qualify in this list too?

IMO you can't include Tabuse on that list, he isn't expected to make an NBA roster, in fact he overachieved when he made it to the Phoenix roster, he wasn't even drafted. What we are talking about here are players who didn't reach their potential (Derrick Coleman) or who are overrated (Shawn Bradley, Michael Olowokandi) or who just couldn't stick around.... all players mentioned on the list are lottery picks.

Bogut will be a bust. save this post so you can either compliment or make fun of me later
on to my teams:
the Lakers' pick of Andrew Bynum was questionable. sure, they are hoping for the next KG/Jermaine/Amare in the next 3 years (he's 17 years old) but for every Amare, there's a Kwame. Ronny Turiaf was an awesome pick in the 2nd round though. the guy is like a Udonis Haslem with better offensive skills.
the Heat got a great pick at 29 with Wayne Simien. he's a big guy that can play next to Shaq right away. assuming they can re-sign Haslem, they've got a front court of Shaq/Zo/Udonis/Simien to match up against anything Detroit or Indiana can throw at them. of course neither of those teams have anyone to match up with D-Wade.
i think the biggest steal of the draft was Carmelo's old running mate at Syracuse, Hakim Warrick - to Memphis at 19. too small, too skinny, blah blah. the guy can play, he's super-athletic and he's a champion.
some other picks i like are Gerald Green to Boston, Rashad McCants to the Wolves and Deron Williams to Utah. the worst pick by far is Charlie Villanueva to Toronto. he sucks and he plays the same position as Chris Bosh. what is Rob Babcock thinking?
Dito pala nasagot na din "feri" meaning. Sedan nga. hehe
What's a Ferio?
