August 12th, 2003 11:41 PM #263hello people im back!
Nakabili na ako ng bi chickl eta
yung dapat bibilin ko na 21k eh 25 k pala! pero binigay ng 23k
pero I ended up with a 20k bicycle (gulo no?)
eto yung pics
http://www.pbase.com/dmaxbuwaya3/my_bike
Original daw ito galing EUROPE. may manual na kasama ive also check sa website and seem that the orig parts are intact, i just dont know about the levers. I believe this a 2002 Giant XTC SE3 model. Bec of the RockshoxTT fork, yung 2003 kasi eh manitou na ang stock forks.
also it has grip shifts (or gripshits!) thats the only thing i dont like
medyo its hard getting use to compare sa rapid fire. maybe ill swap it somedayhehehehe
So qustion sa inyo.
Is it a goodbuy?
are the parts hi end? or just average?
Is "A" frame really much beeter?
*just have to improve stamina na lang, dati kaya ko hanggang tagaytay, now im fat and old sana kaya ko pa hehehehehe

August 13th, 2003 10:09 AM #264Maxbuwaya,
:bike: :bike: :bike: Congratulations dude! Dalawa na tayo naka Giant hardtail! Mine is a 2003 XTC Team frame, and i had the bike assembled at Extreme.
i agree doon sa SRAM shifters.. takes getting used to definitely but still a good component, but like you, i prefer the trigger shifters. have you tried braking hard with the SRAM levers? noticed na naka Avid discs ka (good also).
down the road, especially for the longer rides, your behind will thank you if you consider upgrading your seat. i traded mine for a selle italia gel prolink, and damn, those are good seats...worth every cent! main thing is, use your bike for a while, and after about 50-100 kms use, you'll see whether you should make any changes or adjustments.
otherwise your bike is good to go! join ka na kanila BlackMagic sa Sunday! :toast:

Max, congrats and welcome to the tsikot mountain bikers group. Ganda sobra ng bike mo. Isa lang siguro papalitan ko soon if that was my bike, yung tires. Hutchinson mosquitos tend to wear out quite fast. Advice ko is pudpurin mo yun then change to Michelin, Conti or Nokian. Di ako makapaniwala 20K lang inabot yan. Sama ka na agad on Sunday sa UP. Cheers. Onga pala dont forget to buy a good helmet. Haaay kelan pa kaya ako makaka upgrade ng bike?
Dont worry about stamina, I'm an old fart myself. Konting ensayo lang balik na stamina mo.Last edited by BlackMagic; August 13th, 2003 at 11:45 AM.

August 13th, 2003 01:39 PM #268Gulliver,
my ass feels like a big kalyo after riding it yesterday around 20km
ive tried braking with sliding duon sa SRAM levers. mukahng oks naman. And tee shirts? ok din yon!
Blackmagic,
Ive notice nga na medyo upod na yung rear noong binili ko. at nung ginamit ko ang lambot ng compound nya parang slick tyres. Maybe ill wear out the parts first before changing. Maybe upgrade to Panaracer tires. Mukhang mahal michelin eh!

Max, UP on Sunday 630am. PUnta ka na. Malamang maglilibre si angst ng TAHO hehe.
Panaracer tires are very very good. Medyo mahal rin yun eh. Balita ko sa mga friends ko dati very good grip daw.
