haha there are still more than a few fox fans. sa tlbf lang i think 60% of the riders were on foxes, after nun decided na talaga ako mag magura. reviews were few but all were very good.
here's my review:
havent used it yet since im still building the bike, will do a follow up once ive hit the trails
2008 magura wotan
weight: 5.5lbs
travel: 160mm
use: enduro, freeride, all mtn
other specs: 20mm tru axle, 36mm stanchions, double arch design, travel adjust 120-160mm, albert select system
price: php44k
shop bought: dan's bike
damn this is one beautiful fork! forget about van36s, zoke 66s, pikes or domains. it looks great out of the box, but on a bike it looks even better, i could just stare at my bike for hours hehehe. when i was still deciding what fork to get, i met joey (son of dan from dan's bikeshop), an old acquiantance from my downhilling days, he was on a wotan on his enduro. he let me try his bike, first impression-very nimble, like you're on a lighter bike, his whole bike must've been around 35lbs but acceleration felt like im in a 30lb trailbike
i realize im reviewing his whole bike not just the fork. too bad i wasnt able to hammer down the trail hard enough since he was using time pedals which has a different egagement system from my spds. the fork felt plush, no stiction but i didnt like the remote levers, they clutter up the handlebars and might be easily damaged during spills. dan's bike can order the crown adjustments to replace the remote levers for php6k, yikes kinda pricey! ill just use the levers in the meantime till they break. durability? i dont know, guess ill just have to wait and see
the double arch design is what really made the fork such a beauty. magura promises stiffer performance but i think it's more a marketing gimmick since only pro and world cup riders would notice the difference

*isuzoom, hm hard to give input sa hardtail since all behave the same, most noticeable diff will be weight and geometry. are you looking for a good hardtail? im still using my giant xtc, 4 years na. im glad nobody bought it nung iniwan ku sa bikeshop hehe
a good frame is the merida tfs900, i think almost as light as the xtc siya
*boybi, oopps my bad i meant the sx not the enduro. first time ko nameet si joey nung 05 naka demo9 siya, damn sarap pagmay bikeshop ka hehe you can be the pimp and the user at the same time
here's the wotan, cellphone cam lang kaya malabo

the xlt 2.0/3.0 was release 2004. great reviews, it was actually one of the best trailbikes out during that year. kaso madami na siyang kalaban since old design na yung frame. last time i checked nasa 30k pa ata yung frame, forgot what year tho
how much naba siya? i think the giant trance and kona lineup are the current kings of mid level trailbikes between 30k-50k price (frame only)
but if you're deadset on the jamis go ahead. its a great trailbike wont dissapoint you naman

someones are (at last!) loudly asking, "why did they turn off the countdown timers?"
SC (temporarily) stops NCAP
