haha normal lang yan. you're not changing gears kasi so when you pedal fast from a standstill may load pa but when you reach your max speed, yung gears na ginamit mu might be too low na for that speed so walang karga sa pedals but of course you'll slow down na naman so magkakarun uli ng load yung gears mo.
treat it as a car, when you start, start at a low gear then shift to higher gear pagbumilis na so that may load parin yung cadence and when you slow down shift to low gear again. knowing the right gears on the right speed takes time and hours on the saddle, kaya aku meticulous aku sa shifting lalo na sa competitions, wasted time and energy kasi pagnagkamaling gear even for a split second
*boybi, isn't a 110mm stem too long for you? anu pala height mu? kasi even caucasians find 110mm stem too long for mtbiking, i use 90mm for my xc, 70mm for my fr, 100mm for my road. a longer stem will put more weight in your front sacrificing quick turns on descents but will not make your bike wander on climbs, so longer stem=better ascender, short stem=better descender

miLes, 5'10" ako. Medyo parang mabilis kasi akong mapagod dito sa FS bike ko. So I compared it with my previous bike na hardtail to find out what's wrong. Yung distance between the seatpost and the handle bar is a little bit too short in my FS so I tried to put a longer stem. Pero parang hindi pa rin effective. I'll try to interchange my tires tomorrow, baka ito na ang problema.

July 26th, 2007 06:08 AM #1114Napansin ko pagka-stretched ang paa mo, mas less stressfull sa binti...pag-stretched ang body mo, mas less tiring sa kamay/arms.
nung dati (as in 20years back) merun nauso na bent seat post (parang "7" ang shape)...this allows you also to adjust your distance between the seatpost and the handle bar aside from the height.

Setback seatpost tawag dyan. Meron pa rin ganyang mga seatposts ngayon.

ah tangkad mu pala. the jamis has a shorter top tube for better handling since pang AM siya, not really as pedal efficient as your previous hardtail, parang below 90% power transfer lang yung from the pedals to the tires. does it bob when you pedal?
check your saddle fore and aft position din, when on the bike, position your pedals to the 3 and 9 o'clock position. the knee should be directly above the ball of the foot (where your cleat is attached to the pedal) on the 3 o'clock position

Yung tires nga ang culprit kung bakit ang bilis kong mapagod and hindi ako makahabol sa tropa. I put on the old Michelin tires from my hardtail and gumaan yung pag-pedal ko. Also, mas hindi tumatalsik yung mga dirt sa legs ko with the Michelin tires, unlike dun sa WTB Velociraptor, sobrang dumi ng legs ko after biking.
Wala naman masyadong bob yung Jamis when pedalling. Maganda naman yung pagka-set sa ProPedal. Paano mo nalaman na less than 90% lang ang power transfer ng Jamis XAM2? May website ba tungkol sa mga ganitong data?

yung velociraptor kasi more on cornering, sa knobs palang talo ka sa roll resistance. hehe yung 90% is just my guess, even hardtails dont have 100% power transfer kasi may slack pa sa chain and derailluer, unless single speed.
tires make a big difference talaga kaya im still looking for the best tire
someones are (at last!) loudly asking, "why did they turn off the countdown timers?"
