July 12th, 2007 03:32 PM #1055I like the frame. Great for Trail or Street.
Am using clipless. SPD. Shi Tmano
With Exustar Shoes (Taiwan brand) which up to this date is being held by zip ties hehehehe Madalas kasi ilusong sa putik and some river hehehehe
Its better when bombing downhills. you know, strafing runs hehehehe.
Plus its efficient on uphills.
But its kinda pain in the as s when its muddy.
Crankbros? Someone I know shifted back to SPD. He said its actually harder to disengage. Thoug the cage version of eggbeaters got great or good reviews.
I think it would be safe for beginners to go SPD.
Just dont go buying them exustar pedals. I use to have one and they are piece of crap. and its the same price with Shimanos. (I was trying to built a 100% shimanoless bike that time)
Miles,
Ryan still the most popular as of this time.
But i like Hans No way Rey, Due to the fact he went to our country to promote cycling
hey do you got videos?
I got Off Road to Athens

probably some of the kona klump team
*balmo, spd user here, 661 attach shoes. took me a couple of months to get my confidence back on riding technical trails. my first clipless ride kasi was on rooty/ladder singletrack sections fell down hard on the handlebars, worse it was pointed up, i thought id broken a rib hehe
my friend and i recently joined an off road duathlon sa clark, it was his 3rd time to use clipless, he fell down kasama yung bike, when the people around tried to get him up nakakabit parin sya sa bike
*max, yup i got old videos lang, krank 5, circus, statement, nwd2,3,4,6, roam, disorder 4 etc hehe i got hans rey to sign my jersey when he performed sa powerplantbans and tena got to ride with him when he was here galing!!

July 13th, 2007 04:28 AM #1058parang ayoko yata ng ganyan... kasi hindi mo maidisengage basta-basta yung paa mo to dismount the bike in an emergency/accident case...mas lalo yata akong masusugatan pag-ganyan.
i remember the time from my bmx days...sa isang jump ko na medyo alanganin...when i felt sesemplang ako pagbaba...i let go of the bike and jump out of it...i landed on two feet no scratch while my bike went tumbling on its own.
my bike survived with minimal scratch and i didn't have any....naimagine ko tuloy kung nakaclip ang paa ko sa pedal at hindi ko maidisengage ang paa ko agad sa pedal eh malamang nabalian ako nuon pagkasemplang...
with regards to iwas-sugat naman sa shin dahil sa accidental na nag-didisengaged na pedal while biking...i saw a solution in one of the bikers i saw on the road...he wore knee length socks (pang soccer) and have shin-guards on them (pang soccer na shin-guards).... not a bad idea i think...Last edited by wildthing; July 13th, 2007 at 04:30 AM.

yun lang prob pag nakaclipless, i even fell down na nakastop hehe i wasnt able to unclip yung left foot, right foot lang eh sa left side napunta weight ku pinagtitinginan aku ng mga tao sa kalsada kala siguro beginner biker lang
just a few months ago nagmamadali aku umuwi after a bikeout, inabot naku ng gabi with no bike light, didnt notice the newly dugged ditch at the side of the road, endo aku kasama yung bike fortunately i was able to land on my back and my hydration pack broke my fall, never use your arms to break your fall if your using clipless
sa start lang naman mahirap magunclip, after awhile automatic na reaction how to unclip, just dont forget na nakaclipless ka hehe

:bwahaha: the misadventures of the clipless pedals! just the other day, as i was approaching a stop light, i slowed down, unclipped my left pedals, but for some reason fell on my right side. i was ok...more embarassed than hurt.
i currently have shimano SPDs, but thinking about upgrading to either speedplay or keo.
someones are (at last!) loudly asking, "why did they turn off the countdown timers?"
SC (temporarily) stops NCAP
