yes tires make a huge effect on rolling resistance. An offroad tire drags a lot.
Get some slicks if you don't intend to go offroad. No need to change rims just don't try to put on tires that are too narrow for your existing rims.
No need to change chainrings ("sproket sa pedal"), just shift to a lower gear to make pedalling easier. That's what the shifter is for.
You might also want to change the suspension fork for something lighter.

Dati yung 5KM hehe, if matuloy ang bike-to-work scheme ko, I'll be biking from Santolan, Pasig (near South Supermarket) to Big Bert's Ortigas... Dun ako maliligo then lakad to office (Emerald).
Paahon kasi ang papuntang Ortigas eh hehe.

August 25th, 2006 09:11 PM #217nevermind the weight hehehehe
pero try to change it to street tyres, not necessary sllicks, try mo michelin street. mahal nga lang P600 isa or continental country ride
if its too complex Then i suggest you turn it into single speed kung pang commute lang. buy a single gear sa likod mga P200 (Good brand na) then use your middle plato lang. And buy a BMX chain mha P250. ok na iyon!

sir, theveed. for the tires, you could opt for a maxxis holy roller. once your tires wear out. as for the pedals, try the next smaller chain ring(plato), the shift to lower gear. very useful kung may paahon, makes pedalling very easy. for the tires, have it aligned by your bike technician.
MTB EB? kelan? saan?

August 27th, 2006 04:05 PM #219if i were you i wont change a thing...you'll get used to it in no time at all...gastos lang yan...plus you get the comfort of big tires...the narrower the tire the higher pressure is required..and the more bone jarring...ganda pa ng ensayo mo.
5 kms is almost nothing.
