Bad motion on the landing and instant pivot. Freak accident indeed. Usually you land naman then make a move again. What happened IMHO is that in one motion he "seemed" to have made a twisting move automatically upon landing and that made the impact on the bone unnatural and thus prone to accident. Again prone, but not a guarantee of accident.

ito pala iyong pinag-uusapan kanina sa cnn. the poor kid's teammates were bawling after that accident understandably so

btw, this reminds me a bit of the accident that happened in an adamson uaap basketball game. iyon nga lang ang lumabas nun ay iyong elbow part naman. but i think the adamsonian kid was able to play again the next season after healing well

Kaya ako pag may mga liga liga di ako masyado nakikipagsabayan, mahirap na. Sabi nga ng coach ko dati nung varsity pa ako, "die for the ball!". Ul0l niya! Mga teammates ko masunurin eh, ayun mga iba nagkanda pilay pilay at yung iba pumutok yung sa may taas ng mata. Ako wala. Hahaha
