Old topic, but still relevant. Here's my take.
How far do you think would science go with cloning whole human beings? What would be the most practical reason why you would clone humans? Well, the population is big enough that natural biological growth would take care of replenishing humans for the foreseeable future. So, what's there to gain with cloning?
Spare parts.
Though the movie "The Island" was pure science fiction, it pretty much paints the picture of what clones can be used for... as donors... like an organ plantation. I think this is where it becomes morally wrong. And that's not to mention the hundreds of human test clone subjects that will likely die in failed experiments.
