So sikat sa pinas yung game na mura at madali i-DIY yung gamit like BB, bilyar, baraha, etc. hehehe Sadly economics dictates which sports is ideal sa Pinas. Dapat yung sikat para makakuha ka sponsors/trabaho (MVP, SMC) para mabuhay naman athlete after their "useful" years.

Chot Reyes was probably downplaying the team's chances. Better than being overconfident, IMO. Plus, it adds to the storyline. Can't not love an underdog beating some higher ranked team, like what we almost did against Croatia. Could be psy-war as well, though I suppose a lot more opposing teams are going to be watching Gilas's games more closely moving forward.
