February 1st, 2009 07:33 AM #82Hi there! I do experience that with own son (solo po) Very delay un sa akin. Naglakad siya after 1 year nya - mayde 1 1/2 tapos some my relatives from states told me bakit ganun ang anak ko. So nagpaconsult kami sa doctor dahil wala kaming pera we went sa UP-PGH meron silang free consultation don (OPD side) check sa ENT, Optha, Neuro hanggang sa Rehabilation and Theraphy. One i learned from them kasi my schooling din sila don - how to produce sound para makatulong sa anak natin. Thank God kasi marami ako natutunan don of course need ng tutok (anyway once a week lang naman ang session) Sorry ha, pero i recommend you to go to private school - un toddlers or nursery. Kasi sa day care (which i did before) mas naadopt ng anak ko un play - laro kasi sobrangdami nga nila. Kaya mas maganda din un kakaunti. One thing if your son asked milk - dont say dede or dodo - tell him milk. No baby talk kasi mas masasanay sila don or if he pointed the milk can (kung san nagkalagay yon milk) tell him milk - hanggang matuto din yan. Tiyagaan lang yan.
Now my son is 12 - sometimes rattle pa rin siya magsalita but i see to it na papaulit ko yun word para masanay yun dila. Exercising their tounge is one thing pa - try to check his tounge baka naman maiksi they call it tounge-tied if not try to visit mga speech theraphy. Yeah, mostly sa mga quiet person is observant like my son. Hope it helps. Keep asking God to help you to be more patience and have a teachable spirit.
