i think chot's system is still in its infancy, considering yung mga kasamang players sa lineup ay di mga superstars (with the exception of cortez) they still managed to compete pretty well. Isama mo lang dyan si James Yap or Lordy, na sureball sa labas, mahihirapan na ang mga kalaban paano pa kaya kung full complement of PBA superstars. It would be a mistake to criticize chot and replace him this early.

after reading the interview of coach chot earlier and putting things in perspective, i think the rp team's performance in this year's jones cup was not a total failure. sure they could have done better but given the circumstances, well, what more can i say

buttomline... lets face it our team doesn't have size, and when you don't have size you need to have a strong shooting team, and a strong point guard who will make plays, ball movement, etc. Yes wala ang mga superstars natin, pero yung mga kalaban puro din developmental players din pinapadala so that excuse of not fielding in our best players is crap IMO. Also masyado nang naging Western ang laro natin >> one on one, limited ball movement, lack of shooting. This is international basketball, zone defences are allowed, kung wala kang shooting talo ka, wala kang ball movement talo ka, puro ka one on one talo ka.
I hope this is a wake up call for BAP. I hate hearing the same excuses over and over...

nak ng jue... lang kwenta 'tong RP team na to. nung nananalo tayo sa Jones Cup back in the early 90's, outside shooters ang tumitira noon like si Alan Caidic, Almario, and Ricky Brown. Yung Korean Team na contemporary nila noon parang free throw shot lang ang 3-pt shot sa kanila. hirap kasi, masyado entertainment (kuno) oriented ang PBA, more action in the inside and show-time plays.
