I know it's the Winter Olympics and there isn't snow in the Philippines but there are two Filipino Americans competing in this years Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The first one to compete is JR Celski and he just won a bronze medal in the 1500 meter short track speed skating. Not bad considering that 6 months ago he almost died when he crashed and had his femoral artery cut by a blade from a skate. 6 months and 60 stitches later he is in Vancouver competing in the Olympics and wins a bronze medal. Next event for Celski will be the 1000 meter event then the 5000 meter relay and lets hope that he gets the gold in his next events.

When figure skating starts another Filipino American will be competing in the pairs competition by the name of Amanda Evora. She and her partner came in second during the US Nationals and hopefully they are as successful in the Olympics as JR Celski.

Unfortunately figure skater Amanda Evora and her pairs partner only came in tenth place and didn't medal. Never the less still great that she made it to the Olympics.

Shaun White did one helluva performance. He is truly the king of snowboarding Julia Mancuso and Lindsey Vonn are notable athletes too.
