    errr...whats "distro"?
    Distro = Linux Distribution

    If you were to download and install Linux onto your computer, you would not have a GUI (graphical user interface) or any other applications. Thats where vendors or distributors of Linux come in. People with an idea about how the desktop should look, feel, or be used will take the Linux source code and add many other applications to it that will allow you to turn your computer into a complete desktop. These people create what is known as a distribution or "flavor" of Linux.

    Note: "Live CD" is generally slower than embedded (Installed) Linux because every action, program, and everything has to be read then uncompress from the CD drive and not from the hard drive kaya mukhan mabagal. Imagine 7-10 mins bago lumabas ang desktop.pero depende rin iyon sa speed ng cdrom mo. "Live CD" distributions take most of the pain out of trying Linux. Learn how to get Linux running on your system without installing it, and find out which live CD distribution is right for you.

    Ok ang Knoppix detect nya NTFS file system di gaya ng ibang distros

    in fairness, maganda talaga interface and usability features ng windows os and office. also, while it's easy for us techie guys to adapt to new software, some people may find the shift difficult -- lalo na ung tipong 8 or more hours a day gumagamit ng excel.

    fyi, there is such a thing as M$ Office Small Business Edition -- mga 10 - 11k, includes word and excel only
