I change phones every year, but only because it's free
Free as in you only pay for the airtime every month ... which is at the same rate whether I use my old phone, a crappy new model, or one that I want to have. So I went for an O2 XDA Exec. Surfing the internet while in the toilet is so much easier now - I used to bring along a laptop

* afrasay - thanks ... but still, there are some basic things on the phone side that I don't like.
