sir, welcome po kayo.....
at huling bilin po..... 'wag na 'wag na 'wag ninyong i-check-in ang laptop ninyo and other valuables..... taga-paliparan po ako at maraming kaso na nawalan ng laptop sa check-in baggage......di po liable ang airline diyan.....better i-hand-carry ninyo ang laptop..... also please put your name, address and contact number inside and outside ng check-in baggage ninyo, pati na rin yung handcarry for easy identification...
happy trip po!

Glenn,
Just remove your laptop hard drive. Put the hard drive in one of bags you plan to check-in. Hand carry your laptop. If they ask you to start your laptop, tell them, it doesnt have a hard drive and you're planning to buy a new one.

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY
URGENT PUBLIC ADVISORY
03 OCTOBER 2005
URGENT WARNING ON THE BRINGING INTO THE US OF PIRATED ITEMS
Please be informed that a travel advisory from the US Embassy in Manila
is warning everyone against bringing into the US any pirated item or
items or they would face automatic deportation in violation of
intellectual property rights, or arrest and criminal prosecution, in
addition to civil fines and penalties. Please remember that even ONE
pirated item could jeopardize your trip.
The following is the full text of the Travel Advisory From (The)
American Embassy in Manila from Ms. Thess Q. Sula of the US Commercial
Service:
"Please share this with your friends and relatives. US Customs officials
are also looking into fake bags like Louis Vitton, Coach, Gucci, Prada,
etc. but even cosmetics, too!
Not only pirated VCD/DVD are on the hot list. Please be informed that
the Am erican Association of Publishers (AAP) has also alerted the
American customs officers to check out for pirated books. Please warn
all nursing graduates who plan to take the NCLEX and CGF exams in the US
not to bring in these pirated books because there will be a penalty of
automatic deportation as violation of intellectual property rights.
If you know of anyone going from the Philippines and coming back to the
US with "pasalubong and padalas," please read this important enclosed
advisory from the American Embassy in Manila. Please share with your
friends:
Just a friendly reminder: If you have plans of going to the US, please
take precautionary measures on all "padalas" especially those containing
fake/pirated compact disks/DVDs. US Embassy employees have also been
given an advisory that "as US government employees, we should abide by
the US laws, including Intellectual Property Rights (anti-piracy) laws.
As an additional incentive, the (US Embassy's) Consular Section recently
received a report that the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
searched the bag of a Filipino entering the US on NW 72 in Detroit.
During the search, 70-80 compact discs, 30-40 empty DVD jackets and
10-20 DVDs were found. Since the travelers were not American citizens,
their visas were canceled and they returned to the Philippines. If they
had been Americans, they could have been subject to arrest and criminal
prosecution in addition to civil fines and penalties.
Please remember even ONE pirated item can jeopardize your trip.
Also, the fingerprinting system has successfully been instituted in all
port of entries. I suggest you bring extra identification cards in
addition to your passport to facilitate your entry in the US
Immigration. I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks and regards,
Thess Q. Sula
