I have an old 2nd gen Tag Heuer Silver Aquaracer watch with a diameter of 39mm which feels just about right for my wrist. The Seiko 5 5 SRPK29 gave the same light and casual feel.

    yes, it looks good.
personally, i prefer smaller 36 or 39 mm diameter watches.

i haven't gone on serious watch-hunting lately, but,
    am i imagining it,
or are these list prices higher than actual distributor's showroom?

    i read somewhere,
that the manufacturer's outlet will not under-price its distributors.
    it's bad for overall business.

    yespo.
    that's what i meant.
go to the distributors, aka authorized sellers, and not the corporation-owned outlet, for discounts.
some stores that "import on their own", may give even bigger discounts.

True, and not just for the watch industry too. Many distributorships have closed down because they undercut their own retailers and the retailers get pissed and leave.

    __________

For Seiko, the usual discount is 15% to 20% for cash purchases and 10% to 15% for straight credit card payments.

Washington, Prestige, and Time Lux (probably cheapest place to get Seikos, IIRC, they're located in Farmers Plaza) can give bigger discounts but purchase has to be at the store

Grand Seiko is about 20% to 25% for cash purchases and 20% for straight credit card payments.

Also, clearance sales are usually only available at the retail outlets. Minsan nga makaka chamba ka pa ng 40% to 60% off for brand new old stock items.
