IWCs really depreciate a lot. Only Rolexes don't. Even a Speedmaster depreciates.
I'll wait for a good deal on the Pilot Mark XVIII a few years down the line.

i read that the counterfeiters are now so good, they can even do the laser marks on the glass.
i suppose, the authorized agent has documentation on the watch.

It's much harder to determine a real one from a fake one through pictures but holding it in the flesh makes for an easier task. Or you could just go to an AD and have it checked.
I find it utterly distasteful to wear a fake watch. Would prefer to wear a legit Seiko SKX than a replica Rolex.
