Still looking. Taga presyo ng ibang nakikita ko so far (within striking distance of getting a new one at a local store once discounts are factored in). I also chimed in on one of our batchmates if he'll let go of his Seamaster (presyong classmate )

The search is part of the fun really (parang kotse lang).

Here's an example of a Rolex that now costs more in "used" condition, than it was when brand new.

    ?T?u?}???[?i ?f?C?g[16610] SUBMARINER DATE | ?????b?N?X ?????Y ???? ???v

I had the Japanese translated, and here's the result.

Maker's suggested retail price ¥ 560,000 (tax excluded)

    ¥ 777,000 (tax included)

Sales price: ¥ 719,445 (excluding tax)

Did I read it right, that's a 1991 16610 Sub? So over the course of 26 years, it earned 8%? That's not much of an investment now is it...

Although there really is a shortage of Submariners in the market today. None of the local ADs have Submariner stocks on hand, and there's a pretty long line for it.

Net, this is pushing the prices of Subs upwards, and 5 year old Subs are selling higher now than when they were new as buyers turn to the secondhand market.

    If you're asking me, I don't know.

I'm not into Rolexes for investment.

I just buy, because I like them.

Actually the same stance I take on cars, watches, and jewelry. Buy because you like em and can afford them; and just try to take one that has the least hit on depreciation (value for money).

Slight OT, i was thinking lang. How many Rolex is enough?

    Kelangan ba talaga magka Rolex?

Most of the people i asked prefer rolex over any other brands like Audermars, Vacheron, and Patek? I mean they are accomplished and successful pero they settled sa Rolex.
