How to register Smart 258 Unlimited Call?

a) Key-in CALL and send to 258

b) You will receive a confirmation message that you have successfully enrolled in the Smart 258 Unlimited Call Service.

How to place an Unlimited Call?

a) Key-in the number of the Party you are calling and send to 882 (ie: 09192204444, send to 882)

b) You will then receive a call-back from 882. Once answered, a call will be triggered to the person you are calling.

How to Register to Smart 258 Unlimited Text?

a) Key-in TXT and send to 258

b) You will receive a confirmation message that you have successfully enrolled in the Smart 258 Unlimited Text Service

PLDT, Smart extend price promo

THE PHILIPPINE Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) said it has again extended to June 11 its unlimited 10-peso promotion for calls within the network and to its cellular phone subsidiaries Smart Communications and Pilipino Telephone Corp.

THE PHILIPPINE Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) said it has again extended to June 11 its unlimited 10-peso promotion for calls within the network and to its cellular phone subsidiaries Smart Communications and Pilipino Telephone Corp.
The 30-day extension from May 11 was in response to requests from PLDT's more than 23 million fixed-line and mobile subscribers to extend the offering, according to Butch Jimenez, PLDT head of retail.

Jimenez said PLDT's call volume had gone up 200 percent since the promo started.

PLDT was extending the promo even after it reported that its fixed-line revenue had weakened in the first quarter.

The 10-peso promo is also being attacked by the firm's competitors

Globe Telecom Inc. had asked the National Telecommunications Commission to stop PLDT from offering the 10-peso promo unless the telecom giant allow its competitors to join.

Smart, meanwhile, said it was likely to also extend its 25/8 promo scheduled to May 21.

PLDT president Napoleon Nazareno had said that the current promo tariffs were under review, hinting that the telecom giant could fold-in the low pricing to its current rate structure.

"We are looking at a model where the unlimited would fit into our pricing scheme. But for now, they would remain as promos," Nazareno said during PLDT's briefing of its first quarter results.

Globe president Gerardo Ablaza, however, said that for his company, unlimited pricing was not the way to go.

"Our experience indicates that consumer behavior leads to massive change in call volume that would become unsustainable if we were to meet the minimum requirement on network integrity," said the Globe president.
