i find it strange that the drug has been around for at least 10 years, but got banned from sports just now.

- World Anti Doping Agency officially published a list, listing meldonium/mildronate to be banned in 2016. Sharapova claimed she received an email from ITF about it, but neglected to read it
- on the other hand, the US Anti-Doping Agency has a link on their website that specifically pulled out meldonium/midlronate from the 2016 banned list, as well as the reason why it is to be banned.(as of now, meldonium/mildronate is on the list)
