Crysis wouldn't be my first choice as a game I'd buy. There are better-optimized games out there. Playing it in a window at a reduced resolution and lower AA setting helped very slightly.
Medium settings seems to be much more playable (and still looks great). What's strange is if I used the "optimized" settings detection, the game defaults to High.
Looking at the grass closeup, it is a big improvement over the original Far Cry.
Add: The framerates may seem a bit low. But, it is pretty smooth, definitely playable.
