Syet, I remember my own Commodre 64. Magnetic floppy na ang gamit ko nun. It was utilized mostly for games. Kainis lang, pumutok nung minsang isaksak ng pinsan ko sa outlet, and it never worked again. Sayang.

My very first was a Commodore VIC-20, the one that preceded the C64, puro cartridge din. When they came out with the digital tape drive it was almost as expensive as the VIC-20. I read a computer article about an interface so you can use an ordinary cassette recorder, and built it ... it was just a TTL voltage converter. When I got a C64 later, yung tape drive pa rin gamit ko. It was mainly used on radio comms ... encoding/decoding morse code, radio teletype, and packet (w/ e-mail before the internet, hehe).

The C64 was still working when I left it in the Phil.

Commodore is the commonly used name for Commodore International, an electronics company who was a major player in the 1980s home computer field. The company formally went bankrupt in 1994, but there have since been several attempts to revive their Amiga systems.

it is also a commissioned naval officer who ranks above a captain and below a rear admiral; the lowest grade of admiral

I voted 9-10 years. Actually, I just took out an original late-1996 Diamond Monster 3D (3DFX Voodoo) out of my P3-733 since support is spotty for W2k.
    My den :

The pc on the left is a P3-733 from 1999 and runs Ubuntu and W2k
    Components:
    Hauppage WinTV PCI (1998)
    SB Live (2000?)
    Ati Radeon (2000)
Hard drive is 30GB WD Caviar (2000)

The pc on the right is my Athlon X2 4200+
The oldest component would be the 2 Samsung 17" crt from 2000/2001. They just simply refuse to die.

My wife's pc has a Maxtor PCI Firewire card from 2001. Also, the pc is an Athlon XP 1700+ from 2001.

My oldest components besides 720k Amiga floppies from the late 80's and 3.5" 1.44MB floppy drives from the early 90's would be my original 1995 MS Sidewinder 3D Pro and 1996 Diamond Monster 3D. Both still work:

I knew I had a pic of it somewhere.... My wife's Athlon XP 1700+ from 2001. The case is a more recent Antec case. The oldest components are an SB Live Value and a Maxtor PCI Firewire card, all from 2001:

he keyboard is from an old Gateway 2000 pc (1997) that a neighbor had junked and left by the dumpster (I came over one night and took the keyboard).

Since the pic was taken, I replaced the Pioneer slot-loading DVDROM (2000) with a Lite-ON 8x DVD burner (2004). The Pioneer DVDROM is now in the P3-733 shown in my first post of this thread.
