I'm just wondering if those cheaper lcds are being made by subcontractors and the big name manufacturers just slap their name on it.

Sanyo mahal talaga. Tingnan mo na lang kung Made in Japan kasi yung ibang Sony Made in Indonesia / Malaysia / Thailand na yata.

I'm in the market too for LDC TV's. But from what I've read, better to hold off buying a new one until March or thereabouts. Maraming ire-release na new models ang mga manufacturers after the Consumer Electronics Show this January 2010. So bagsak presyo malamang ang current models.
Kahit 20% lang ang decrease ng price of the 40-incher I'm eyeing, puwede na yun, hehehe
