O.T.
Anybody here who have tried a DVD player that has a HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) feature? Applicable ito sa plasma/LCD na HDTV ready. Nai-enhance nga ba yung DVD movies ng 3X its original quality? I want to buy one, pero alamin ko muna kung totoo ito.

HDMI DVD w/ HDMI Plasma
'Got a Toshiba Upconverter DVD player with HDMI connected to a 42" Vizio Plasma (via HDMI cable). Mas malinaw at enhaced pa ang picture quality kasi naka 1080i ka na. Switchable din pala and DVD player from 480p to 720p to 1080i.
'Hope this helps..

Hi Guys!!!
I got a philips DVP 5900, which has HDMI. It was a match with my Philips 32" LCD.
Thing though is, when I play those DVD's I got from the US(after hacking it to be multi region) it tells me that the device is non-HD or something. It does not show any picture(instead blue screen) only. But switching to analog(yellow video cable, together red and white audio), it works prefectly. but local chinese bootleg dvds work well with HDMI. bakit kaya?
Also, how much ang DVD players with HDMI sa atin sa pinas? how much ang after market HDMI cable sa atin?
thanks

meron ba dito gumagamit ng mga RPTV for their systems?

rptv walang sinabi sa picture quality and clarity compared to lcd, plasma and crt tvs. not to mention the bulk of the unit. panalo ka lang sa screen size. kaya last month samsung 32" slimfit tv ws32z40HN (hdmi and up to 1080i) nalang muna kinuha ko since namamahalan din ako sa current lcd n plasma prices. besides the 1080p capable lcd/plasma tvs are replacing the current 1080i only tvs na so its not really logical to splurge 100k+++ for a non 1080p set.

rptv's are good value and can be high quality as well. still not as good as plasma or lcd, as bluebimmer mentioned, but good options if you don't wipe your ass with P1000 bills
but imo, you must must must get DLP if you go RPTV
cardo, the HDMI cables alone are USD 100 over here....

OH SYET!!!! It means ok pa pala yun nabili ko dito. 300 rmb(1800php) without receipt(from 650rmb with receipt, wierd) but the cable is philips too. kaya pala it was offered as a separate purchase, mahal. I got the Philips DVP 5900 with HDMI for 1000kRMB, mga 6kPhp. is this a good deal? I did'nt knew anything about HDMI, I just thought it would be a nice combination with the LCD TV I got since it had an "HD" logo
anyway, I answered my own queryDapat pala HD-DVD yun bala ng player hehehe. So correct me if I'm wrong... pag normal DVD or bootleg disks, upscaling lang ginagawa nya? from "normal" viewing to "HD" quality? tama ba?

I got our toshiba 140k, 50 inch mga 1.5 years ago. Ok sya for DVD. pero pag ps2/xbox, di maganda pic quality. lalo na pag TV or cable(we use dream). hindi kase ganun ka-advance yun video features ng dream receiver at ng PS2. siguro maganda pag xbox 360
lalo na HD na yun 360 right?
