Generally, what brand would you get for a flatscreen? Toshiba or LG?

I'm in china and the TV's here are cheaper than in the Phils. I am choosing between two 42 inch TV here since same price sila. The Toshiba is 11980RMB and the LG is 11990RMB. I have free shipping and I'm going back to the phils. I would not want to miss this opportunity of getting a nice TV at this price. Warranty is a concern but its an accepted risk for me. So if anyone has ever had long term problems with both brands please post

I tried looking around the web for info on the toshiba, pero puro chinese lahat yun website.

Here's a sample in case you can read chinese..

Yun LG may nakita ako sa web, and the reviews look solid.

    watcha think?

also, meron ba specialty shops in Manila that can repair flatscreen tv's? thanks!

mga gurus...nabuhay ulit tong thread na to.

over the last year i've converted one of our bedrooms into a dedicated a/v room. painted the room dark blue, wired it for 5.1 through the attic, and installed the components.

right now, i have a 42" pioneer plasma, JBL surrounds, my semi-ancient Harman Kardon receiver and Panasonic DVD player, and an SVS subwoofer. the Pioneer and the SVS are keepers, but i'm looking to upgrade the surrounds, receiver and DVD player to take advantage of the new HDMI technology. i also need to get some new HT furniture because right now i have a convertible sofa/futon in there that doesn't do the job.

oh, and besides DVD i also run Digital HDTV and an Xbox 360. any advice on what components to look at?
