Im assuming that the Toshiba is also a rear projection TV and not the flat panel type, same as the samsung DLP you have mentioned above, it will really depend on the lighting in your living room. For a living room with daylight, the toshiba LCD will be the 1 for you. But if you have a dedicated home theater, go for the DLP.
With LCD-based RPTV's studies have shown some greyscale degradation over time, while for DLP's there are none. So even though the LCD-based RPTV's will look brighter than the DLP's when you do a side by side comparison, there is still a possibility of image degradation over a couple of years of usage, while DLP's even tho its not as bright at first will still retain the same brightness and sharpness no matter how long you use it.

walang anuman sir chieffy, its my pleasure actually. With regards naman doon sa sony lcd rear projection tv, tama kayo sir, madaling paltan yung lamp non, pero the reason why I didnt buy this brand is because I took the advise of 1 of our fellow tsikoteers. If you would read pages 47 and 48 of this thread, I was strongly advised by crazy_chiq to reconsider. My mind was already set on the sony but after having that info, I went back to the drawing boards.Thats why I ended up buying the panasonic DLP which is not bad by the way.
With regards to Samsung naman, they are probably the experts on DLP since they are already selling their 4th or 5th generation DLP in the market. Yung model ng samsung na nabanggit nyo sir is probably a 2nd generation but Im not sure about it kasi wala akong makitang reviews niya on the web. DLP lamps are also very easy to replace btw and some say that it lasts longer than the LCD's, pero bias ako dito since DLP ang nabili ko. hehe.
If you decide sir on what to buy just make sure na maganda ang aftermarket service nila. Good Luck.

Separate mo yun gym. On the HT room, plan your wirings. Maganda tago, or emebbed yun wirings sa wall or floor... nice to look at since its more neat. Or if you have the money, in wall speakers as well... then a motorized plasma tv coming out from the floor or a cabinet or from the roof
