I made one room in the house for dedicated home theater. With proper soundproofing and lighting, you get the amazing experience of watching movie without leaving your home. And everything control by Philips Marantz Pronto. It's Showtime. Here's my set-up.

Sunfire Theater Grand DTS 5.1 Dolby Digital 5.1-The Heart of the system.
Dolby Digital 5.1, Bryston 9BST 5 channel Amp,
Pioneer Elite DVD DV-09 THX Certified,
DVDO iScan Pro by Silicon Image (Line Doubler)
    RCA DTC100 HDTV Satellite Receiver,
Tice Power Block Sig. Series High Current Filter,
2 Aura Bass shakers powered by 2 dedicated power amp.,
B&W Nautilus 804 Main Speakers - 'nuff said.
    B&W HTM2 Center Speaker - awesome dialog.
Definitive Technology BPX Bipolar Surround speakers,
    Velodyne HGS 12 powered subwoofer,
And of course, 64" Widescreen Pioneer Elite Rear Projection Monitor - Amazing clarity and sharpness esp if you get the true 1080p from the HDTV programming. Compliment my DVD player + DVDO iScan pro.
Next project is to paint the walls dark bluish or install home theater fabric around (very expensive though..hmmm).

2 50-watts Bass Shakers Installed under the the home theater seats. Literally a butt kicker esp on the movie Gladiator and Private Ryan.

Personal programmable Philips Marantz Pronto for your system set-up.

Velodyne HGS series 12". Not so boomy type. Very musical as well.

Def Tech BPX bipolar surround, perfect for 5.1 setup IMO.

Bias Light recommended by pro if you have a rear projection monitor. Very economical upgrade to the system but makes a big difference in viewing enjoyment.

One more shot. With dedicated home theater seating for 2, Just in case I get lucky, he-he.

about bose, may be u should also consider listening to other system first, medyo sobrang mahal ng bose compared sa iba...i mean for less the price ng set up ng bose u can get a better speaker...
and if u are considering yung HTIB nila...nde true dolby digital decoder ang gamit nila...and yung acoustic mass nila kulang talaga sa bass...

    shiritakunai

Thanks. Yours is not so bad either. I started the same way. HT is a non-stop upgrade. Always new comes out in the market, bastards, maghihirap tayo if you want to keep up with the new tech. So far, oks na sa akin 'to. I am making the room in dark color. Either dark paint or HT fabric. I set-up my HT over a period of time. Pinag-ipunan konti-konti.

    Cheers.

    splerdu,

it's 43-inches, na projection tv nagpupunta pala kayo sa store namin sa rockwell... ok ba?

    litespeed,

ganda ng set-up mo, mag-plasma ka na ser.

    shirakatunai,

mahirap mag-rely sa reviews ng magazines, kasi more often than not, biased ang mga yan... di ko lang marecall yung name ng speakers na yun... which was chosen over B&W-Nautilus... imagine, nautilus... tinalo ng di kilala (well, di ko kilala)... the same goes with video projectors.

    ser kimpoy,

    dami palang, HT enthusiasts dito.
