alam nyo, after rereading all the comments, parang naaawa na lang ako. jolog1 demonstrates some of the biggest reasons why the philippines is in bad condition:
1) ego. i am better than you all and you better recognize it.
2) negative comments/personal attacks. no matter how good your intentions are, people are not going to listen to you if you call them names or put them down. whatever happened to positive reinforcement?
it's sad that this individual feels that he's actually helping when he's actually perpetuating the behavior that drags the country down.
jolog1, i'm sorry that we lazy, inhuman hypocrites don't live up to your lofty standards. i would suggest that you disassociate yourself from us so you don't have to be around people who don't live up to your ideals

February 15th, 2005 09:46 AM #153This forum was already filled with personal attacks long before I participated on it. As for me being all high and mighty. Well, what can I say. Bluebimmer asked me how much I paid my maid so I replied. You're all just huffing and puffing because the truth hurts. It's the same cycle from the start of thread. Like I said before, I always say what I want to say and I don't care how you guys react. I'm paying my employees the right wages and I'm setting an example for everyone to follow.
M54 - what is with the "we" thing? You live in the US. I've lived there for years too. People don't have maids over there unless you're ultra rich. We all learned to do our own laundry, fold our own clothes, do our own dishes, cook our own food, clean our own place, and all that. Do you see a need for a maid? Even kids as little as 6 years old were taught the basic of "chores" such as taking the garbage out. By the time they reach 10, they help their parents do the dishes and wash their cars. If the kano can do it, why not any of you? In fact, some foreigners in this country don't rely on them. What they do is hire a specialize maid that shows up once a week. 24 hour maid are common in third world countries and do you know why? It's because there's a lot of poor people to exploit. When I was living in the US, I managed to do some volunteer work to help the poor while I went to school. I didn't need a maid back then too.
Iluvdetailing - office workers can make more than maids but they all have to make at least the minimum wage. That's why they call it "minimum wage". SS and Philhealth are mandatory by law.
Clavel - Some of us are parading mayaman? Well, that couldn't be me if you see what kind of car I drive. I don't even wear watches or jewelry. Don't see the need for them other than to prance around your wealth. I don't accessorize and I wear cheap nonbranded clothes. I'm not saying I don't spend money, I spend. I buy only original DVDs, I love electronics.
Glennster - Yes, I'm doing more than you unless you can prove me wrong. By the way, my business is entirely mine. Yours on the other hand.... you still work at your dad's store? When was the last time you did something for the poor? Try and control your temper this time Glenn. I don't want you going berserk again and beat up another car again... yes Glenn, I remember you have a short fuse.
theveed - Did I say people who hire maids are inhumane? There's enough ammo here to use without having to put words on my mouth. People who hire maids are lazy. If you can't wash your own dishes, you're lazy. If you need a maid to go to the corner store and pick up something for you, you're lazy. If you can't sweep your own floor, you're lazy.
I wish I have the time to answer all the love from you guys but I think I got most of it.Last edited by jolog1; February 15th, 2005 at 10:07 AM.

siguro naman mahaba na ang 16 pages para sa topic na ito...i guess there has been a healthy discussion of the topic and almost everyone has shared their point of view...one thing that i dont want to happen is for everyone to forget that we are still a community
let's just offer this very little sacrifice for those who died yesterday of senseless death...

can you guys back it off a bit? enough of those personal attacks, especially from you jolog.
you can discuss / debate/ argue over certain things but don't start name calling or even generalizing about this and that.
